Yarn: Svarta Fåret Tilda in colors 82 and 04, and some leftovers in black and pink,  from Virknålar och Tillbehör
Hook size: 3.0 mm Clover Amour
Size square: appr.  23,5*23,5 cm

Abbreviations US 

st/sts – stitch/stitches
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stich
hdc – half double crochet
blo 
– back loops only
sc2tog – single crochet 2 together

Good to know

– The blanket is crocheted back and forth and turned after each row.
– Crochet head, ears and arms without finishing rounds, use a piece of yarn in a different color to keep track of where the rounds start / end.
– The total number of stitches at the end of the round is within (-).
– Instructions within * – * is repeated to the end or the number of times specified.

Pattern

Square
Ch 60 with green.
1. 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 1 hdc in each ch. Turn. (58 hdc)
2-34. Ch2 (turning chain, doesn’t count), 1 hdc in blo in each st. Turn. (58 hdc)
After 34 rows, my square was square. You may need to make more / fewer rows to get your square depending on the yarn / crochet hook / gauge.
Cut the yarn and secure the ends.

With white, crochet around the square.
Start in one corner, sc across the side to the next corner.
1 sl st in corner, ch15, 1 sl st in each ch back, 1 sl st in corner, ch20, 1 sl st in each ch back, 1 sl st in corner, ch15, 1 sl st in each ch back. 1 sl st in the corner.
Continue with sc across next side.
1 sl st in corner, ch20, 3 sc in each ch back, 1 sl st in corner, ch25, 2 sc in each ch back, 1 sl st in corner, ch20, 3 sc in each ch back, 1 sl st in corner.
Continue with sc across next side.
1 sl st in corner, ch15, 1 sl st in each ch back, 1 sl st in corner, ch20, 1 sl st in each ch back, 1 sl st in corner, ch15, 1 sl st in each ch back. 1 sl st in the corner.
Continue with sc across the last side back to the corner where you started. Finish with a sl st in first sc.
Cut the yarn and secure the ends.

Head
1. 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
2. 2 sc in each st around. (12)
3. *1 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat *-* around. (18)
4. *2 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat *-* around. (24)
5. *3 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat *-* around (30)
6. *4 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat *-* around. (36)
7. *5 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat *-* around. (42)
8-15. 1 sc in each st around. (42)
16. *5 sc, sc2tog*, repeat *-* around. (36)

Fill the head firmly.

Cut the yarn but save a long thread so you can sew the head to the square. Close the hole under the head, do not cut the thread.

Ears (make 2)
1. 4 sc in a magic ring. (4)
2. *1 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat *-* around. (6)
3. 1 sc in each st around. (6)
4. 2 sc in each st around. (12)
5-7. 1 sc in each st around. (12)
8. *1 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat *-* around. (18)
9-13. 1 sc in each st around. (18)
14. *1 sc, sc2tog*, repeat *-* around. (12)

Cut the yarn but save a long thread so you can sew the ears to the head. Flatten the ear, fold it in half and sew a few stitches through.

Arms (make 2)
Start with white.
1. 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
2. 2 sc in each st. (12)
3-6. 1 sc in each st. (12)
Change to green.
7. Crochet in blo. 1 sc in each st around. (12)
8-17. 1 sc in each st. (12)
Fill the arm halfway.
18. *1 sc, sc2tog*. (8)
19. *sc2tog*. (4)
Cut the yarn but save a long thread so you can sew the arms to the blanket.

Nose circles (make 2)
1.
 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
2. 2 sc in each st around. Finish with a sl st in first sc. (12)
Cut the yarn, leaving a long thread so you can sew the circle on the face.

Assembly
*Sew the hole together on one arm and fasten the thread. With the thread from the other, sew the arms together at the ends. Then go through the arm on the inside and out in the transition between arm and hand. Here the blanket should be sewn on.

* Place the blanket between the arms so that a piece comes out above the arms and sew it on. Sew only through the inside of the first sleeve, through the blanket and then through the inside of the second sleeve, repeating a few times. Attach carefully and cut the thread.

*Sew the head on top of the back of the sleeves. Secure the thread and cut the yarn.

*Sew the ears on top of the head.

*Sew the nose circles to the front of the head.

*Embroider eyes and nose.

*Paint a little inside the ears with pink chalk if you want.
