Yarn: Scheepjes Catona
Hook-size: 3.0 mm Clover Amour
Size: 26 cm after blocking

Good to know
  • Initial stitches are made as standing stitches or replaced with chains;
  • Ch1 = 1 sc, ch2 = 1 hdc, ch3 = 1 dc
  • Finish each round with a sl st in first st unless otherwise stated.
  • Continue with the given color until a new one is specified.
  • Total number of stitches within () at the end of each round.
  • Initial dc2tog; ch2 + 1 dc in specified sts.
  • Skip sts that’s not mentioned on the round.
  • The mandala can become a little wavy after some rounds, this will disappear as you continue.
Abbreviations US

st/sts – stitch/stitches
ch – chain
ch-sp – chain-space
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
FPsc – front post single crochet

dc2tog – double crochet 2 together in the same st or over given sts
pop – popcorn; 5 dc in the same st, remove loop from hook, place hook from front in first dc, put loop back on hook, pull through, ch1 to close (ch1 does NOT count as a st)
pic – picot; ch3, sl st in fist ch

*-* – repeat around
(-) – made in the same st/ch-sp 
[-] – repeat X times over given sts

1. Color 1. 12 dc in a magic ring. (12 dc)

2. Ch1, *1 sc, ch6*. (12 sc, 12 ch6-sp)

3. Color 2. Begin in a ch-sp. 
*(dc2tog, ch1, dc2tog, ch1, dc2tog) in ch-sp, ch1, 1 sc in next ch-sp, ch1*. 
(18 dc2tog, 6 sc, 24 ch1-sp)

4. Color 3. Begin in a sc. 
*pop in sc, ch3, skip ch1-sp+dc2tog, 1 sc in ch1-sp, ch2, skip dc2tog, 1 sc in next ch1-sp, ch3, skip dc2tog+ch1-sp*. 
(6 pop, 12 sc, 12 ch3-sp, 6 ch2-sp)

5Color 1. Begin in a ch2-sp. 
*(1 dc, ch1, 1 dc, ch1, 1 dc) in ch2-sp, ch3, FPsc around pop, ch3*. 
(18 dc, 6 FPsc, 12 ch1-sp, 12 ch3-sp)

6. *[2 dc in dc, 1 dc in ch1-sp] 2 times, 2 dc in dc, ch2, (1 dc, ch2, 1 dc) in FPsc, ch2*. 
(60 dc, 18 ch2-sp)

7. Color 2. Begin in first dc of eight. 
*[dc2tog across next two dc’s, ch1] 4 times, dc2tog in ch2-sp, ch1, 1 sc in next ch2-sp, ch1, dc2tog in ch2-sp, ch1*. 
(30 dc2tog, 6 sc, 36 ch1-sp)

8. Color 3. Begin in sc.
