Roundabout Babyblanket
Yarn: Scheepjes River Washed
Amount: 2 skeins in color 941 and 3 skeins in color 942.
Hook-size: 3.5 mm (4 mm for the edge)
Size one square: appr 15*15 cm
Size blanket: appr 50*64 cm
Good to know
- First stitch on the round can be made as a standing stitch or replaced with chains as follows; ch1 = 1 sc, ch2 = 1 hdc, ch3 = 1 dc.
- Instructions between (-) is made in the same st/chsp.
- Instructions between *-* is repeated around.
- I made 8 squares with color 942 as color 1 and 941 as color 2, then I made 4 squares with the colors opposite.
- When you crochet the edge you might need to go up a hook-size, to not make the edge to tight.

chsp – chainspace
sc – single crochet

Pattern
With color 1; ch6, slst in first ch to make a ring.
1. 12 dc around the ring. End with a slst in first st. (12 dc)
2. Ch4 (=1 dc, ch1), 1 dc in first st, *(1 dc, ch1, 1 dc) in next st*, repeat *-* around. End with a slst in 3rd ch of beginning 4. Cut yarn. (24 dc, 12 ch1-sp)
3. Color 2. Begin in a ch1-sp. *1 sc in chsp, 2 bphdc around next two dc’s, 2 sc in next chsp, 2 bphdc around next two dc’s*, repeat *-* around. End with a slst in first st. (18 sc, 24 bphdc)
4. 1 hdc in each st around. End with a slst in first st. (42 hdc)
5. *6 dc, 2 dc in next st*, repeat *-* around. End with a slst in first st. Cut yarn. (48 dc)
6. Color 1. Begin in any st. *3 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc, (1 tr, ch2, 1 tr) in next st, 2 dc, 2 hdc*, repeat *-* around. End with a slst in first st. (12 sc, 16 hdc, 16 dc, 8 tr, 4 ch2-sp)
7. 1 hdc, 3 dc in next st, 6 hdc, (2 dc, ch2, 2 dc) in ch2-sp, 5 hdc*, repeat *-* around. End with a slst in first st. Cut yarn. (48 hdc, 28 dc, 4 ch2-sp)
8. Color 2. Begin in 1st dc of 3 made in the same st. *3 bpdc, skip 1 st, 2 dc in next st, skip 1 st, 2 dc in next st, skip 1 st, 3 dc, (2 dc, ch2, 2 dc) in ch2-sp, 3 dc, skip 1 st, 2 dc in next st, skip 1 st, 2 dc in next st, skip 1 st*, repeat *-* around. End with a slst in first st. (12 bpdc, 56 dc, 4 ch2-sp)
9. *12 sc, (1 sc, ch2, 1 sc) in ch2-sp, 9 sc*, repeat *-* around. End with a slst in first st. (92 sc, 4 ch2-sp)
Cut yarn and secure the ends.
Assembly
Crochet together with slst in the back loops, make sure the squares have the backsides facing eachother.
Secure ends.
Edge
1. Begin in the first st after a corner. 1 sc in each st until you reach the join, make 1 dc in the join and continue with sc in each st to the next join. In the corners you make (1 sc, ch2, 1 sc). Continue around the blanket. End with a slst in first st. Cut yarn.
2. Change color and begin in a corner-chsp. (1 sc, ch2, 1 sc) in corner-chsp, *ch1, skip 1 st, 1 sc in next st*, repeat *-* to next corner. Continue around the blanket. End with a slst in first st. Cut yarn.
3. Change color and begin in a corner-chsp. (1 sc, ch2, 1 sc) in corner-chsp, *ch1, skip sc, 1 sc in ch1-sp*, repeat *-* to next corner. Continue around the blanket. End with a slst in first st. Cut yarn.
4. See round 3.
5. See round 3, do NOT cut the yarn at the end.
6. Slst in corner-chsp, (2 hdc, ch2, 2 hdc) in corner-chsp, skip sc, 2 hdc in ch1-sp. Continue around the blanket. End with a slst in first st. Cut yarn and secure the ends.
