chsp – chain-space

Good to know

Head is crocheted in continous rounds. Use a stitch marker or a piece of yarn in another color to keep track of beginning/end of the rounds.
Wings and skirt are crocheted in rounds, with each round closing with a slst in first st of the round.
Ch3 for beginning dc.

Pattern

Head
1. 6 sc in a magic ring. (6 sc)
2. 2 sc in each st. (12 sc)
3. *1 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat *-* around. (18 sc)
4. *2 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat *-* around. (24 sc)
5-8. 1 sc in each st. (24 sc)
9. *2 sc, sc2tog*, repeat *-* around. (18 sc)
Time to start filling the head.
10. *1 sc, sc2tog*, repeat *-* around. (12 sc)
11. *sc2tog*, repeat *-* around. (6 sc)

Wings
12. 2 dc in each st. End with a slst in 3rd ch of beginning 3. (12 dc)
13. 2 dc in each st. End with a slst in 3rd ch of beginning 3. (24 dc)
14. *1 dc, ch1*, repeat *-* around. End with a slst in 3rd ch of beginning 4. (24 dc, 24 chsp)
15. *5 dc in the same st, skip chsp, slst in dc, skip chsp*, repeat *-* 3 more times, 7 sc (1 in each dc and chsp), skip chsp, repeat *-* 4 times, 7 sc, skip chsp. End with a slst in 3rd ch of beginning 3. (40 dc, 14 sc, 8 slst)

Skirt – only crochet in the front loops from previous round. Flatten the work to make it easier and reach the single crochet on the other side of the round.

16. *Ch1, skip ALL dc’s and slst’s, 1 sc in each of the following 7 sc*, repeat *-* 1 more time. End with a slst in first sc. (14 sc, 2 chsp)
17. 2 dc in each sc aruond. End with a slst in 3rd ch of beginning 3. (28 dc)
18. *1 dc, ch1, skip 1 st*, repeat *-* around. End with a slst in 4th ch of beginning 3. (14 dc, 14 chsp)
19. *1 dc in dc, 2 dc in chsp*, repeat *-* around. End with a slst in 3rd ch of beginning 3. (42 dc)
20. *5 dc in the same dc, skip 1 st, slst in next st, skip 1 st*, repeat *-* 10 times in total, skip the last sts. End with a slst in 3rd ch of beginning 3. (50 dc, 10 slst)

Cut yarn, secure ends. If you want your angel to hang, cut a piece of yarn appr. 18 cm (or as long as you wish) pull the yarn through the top of the head, tie the ends and your angel is ready.
